Patient identities are withheld to ensure confidentiality and privacy. Only those providers whose satisfaction surveys are administered through East Tennessee Children's Hospital are displayed.

East Tennessee Children's Hospital has provided the best care for our patients and families for more than 85 years. We are committed to providing the families of East Tennessee with the most accurate information to select the provider who is right for you. One way we do this is through posting transparent reviews from real patients to online provider profiles.

Who receives the survey?

The survey is sent to randomly selected patient families who have had care at East Tennessee Children's Hospital or one of our practices within a few days of their encounter. The survey is sent through text, phone call and/or email.

Do you post every comment?

We are committed to transparency, and we post all relevant reviews – both positive or negative. We do not post comments that are libelous, profane or those that contain private patient information. Every provider rating is published regardless of comment status.

What questions do you ask?

On a scale of 1-5:

  • Were you seen by a provider in a timely manner?
  • Did the care providers give you enough information about your health and treatment?
  • Did the care providers listen carefully to you?
  • Did you trust the care providers with your care?
  • Did the care providers seem to know your medical history?
  • Did the care providers do everything they could to ease your discomfort?
  • Did the care providers talk about how to prevent illness and injury?
  • How likely would you be to recommend this facility to your family and friends?

Why doesn't every physician have ratings?

To ensure we have enough data to show an accurate rating, we require a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys per provider before we post their ratings and comments. As we receive more surveys, you will see more providers with reviews.

Can anyone complete a survey or post a comment about a physician?

No, only patient families who have had an appointment with an East Tennessee Children's Hospital provider can complete the survey.

How is patient information protected?

Patient names are not displayed through the online ratings and commentary reviews. All personally identifiable information is removed prior to the comment being posted.
