Continuing Medical Education (CME)

The East Tennessee Children’s Hospital has been reviewed by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®) and awarded accreditation as a provider of continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. This designation assures the medical community and the public that East Tennessee Children’s Hospital delivers education that is relevant to clinician’s needs, evidence-based, evaluated for its effectiveness, and independent of commercial influence.

Children's Hospital utilizes Electronic Education Documentation System (eeds™) as its online portal for continuing medical education. eeds™ is an online CE tracking system for heathcare professionals.  You can use eeds™ to get CE transcripts, attendance certificates, and record self-reported CE credits. Just use the sign-in code provided to you at an educational activity to sign-in and receive attendance.  Evaluations, transcripts, and attendance certificates will be available to you online.   http://etch.eeds.com 


Pediatric Grand Rounds

First Tuesday of each month, 12-1 p.m.

Each session is approved for 1 hour of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

ACCME Accredited With Commendation

The East Tennessee Children’s Hospital is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Part 2 MOC - American Board of Pediatrics

Individuals may receive ABP Part 2 MOC points for participation in Pediatric Grand Rounds and select CME activities. The course description will contain information regarding ABP Part 2 MOC points when applicable.

Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Nurses

The American Academy of Physician's Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Nurses and nurse practitioners certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Association (ANCC) may use this education toward certification renewal. This education is also acceptable for nurse practitioners certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Other Healthcare Professionals

Professional associations may choose to convert the hours earned to continuing education hours. Please contact your certifying board to ensure this education will be accepted.
