Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA)
Comprehensive Health Analysis in East Tennessee
Community assessment is the foundation for improving and promoting the health of community members. The role of a community assessment is to identify factors that affect the health of a population and determine the availability of resources within the community to adequately address these factors. East Tennessee Children's Hospital routinely assesses the community needs to evaluate the overall health status of the children it serves. The information from these assessments is used to guide the strategic planning process of the organization.
Periodically, not-for-profit hospitals are required to conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and develop an implementation plan to best serve the community's health needs.
