Children's Hospital Names New Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Suzanne Rybczynski, new Chief Medical Officer at East Tennessee Children's Hospital
Following a national search, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital announced that Dr. Suzanne Rybczynski has been named the new Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the hospital. She will join Children’s Hospital in September.
Dr. Rybczynski received her degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1995 and fulfilled a residency in pediatrics at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. Dr. Rybczynski has nearly 30 years of experience in pediatric healthcare. She comes most recently from Baltimore, Maryland, where she has served as Attending Physician at Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins Hospital, as well as Medical Director of the Therapeutic Foster Care Program and Vice President of Quality, Patient Safety and Professional Affairs at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Rybczynski is also an assistant professor in Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr. Joe Childs, retiring Chief Medical Officer at East Tennessee Children's Hospital
Dr. Rybczynski succeeds retiring CMO Dr. Joe Childs. Dr. Childs served Children’s Hospital for more than 30 years before retiring this summer. “Dr. Childs has been an influential leader, mentor, caregiver and friend to many across the organization,” said Schaefer. “We thank him for his years of service to our patients, hospital and community.”
